Lord Shiva lost his control and fell into a great rage and grief. From the Wrath of the Lord Shiva was born Veerabhadra. Veerabhadra was sent by Shiva to avenge him and to punish those who have turned away from him.

After this event, Shiva wanted to restore the World Order and created from his face Sri Muneeswaran. Muneeswaran took seven incarnation, that represented his seven qualities. Muneeswaran has the syllables "Eeswaran" in his name which means "Shiva". Lord Shiva has no avatars but Amsam (appearance) which differs from Vedic avatar system. Muneeswaran is a great Guru and warrior who protecting the Dharma and leads the believers to the right path. The Munis have a higher status than the Rishis and Mahaans because they come from God Himself.  Muneeswaran wears his hair like Lord Shiva, some of his forms wearing crown or turban. He is depicted with a large mustache and mole in his face which was a sign of beauty and masculinity in ancient time. mole in the right position can be healthy and protective. Like Lord Shiva, Muneeswaran use the Trishula as his main weapon and other weapons are sword, stick, mace, machete or whip. The Muneeswaran worship belongs to the group of non-Vedic Shaivism, therefore are alcohols, tobaccos and animal sacrifice offered to Muneeswaren. There are many different forms of Muneeswaran, they differ from character, ability, vegetarianism and occupation. He is considered as a god who understands the people and lives among them. Muneeswaran is often worshiped in

3. Singapore, 
4. Malaysia and 
5. other parts of the world with significant Tamil diaspora.. 

He is worshiped in temples, shrines or under open sky. Munis are worshiped in the form of trees (Maram Vallipadu), stones (Nadukkal Vallipadu) and statue (Uruvam Vallipadu). Statue of Muneeswaran can be found near villages, open fields or in the forest. He is worshiped as a Kaval Deivam a group of gods who protect against evil influences. Like most Kaval Deivam, Muneeswaran has a "Sura Amsam" (appearance of a Suran). "Surans" are heavenly being and are the counterpart of "Asurans". Suran means "light" and Asuran means "darkness". The female form of Suran is Suri. Surans are brave and fierce warriors have a frightening appearance. They have fangs and glowing eyes like Asurans but differ from nature. They fight on the side of the gods against the dark force. In Tamil culture is someone referred as "Suran" or "Suri", who is strong, brave or very capable. Addition to "Sura Amsam" has Muneeswaran the " Shiva Amsam" (Shiva appearance) and "Deiva Amsam" (divine appearance). Saptamunis the seven Muneeswarars 

1. Shivamuni: Who was born from face of Shiva. Mahamuni: He is invincible and possessed great divine power. 
2. Thavamuni: The master of meditation and can remove all obstacles. 
3. Jadamuni: A wise who lives in the forests and guarded it. Has the ability to revive and let trees grow. 
4. Dharmamuni: A mighty warrior who fought against the evil force and protects Dharma.
5. Vazhamuni or Valmuni: A mighty God with sword, who is especially worshiped by Kapalis.
6. Nathamuni: the Merciful, who blesses the faithful. 
7. Pandimuni: a great Pandithar (scholars). 
8. Vettaimuni: A great hunter who is especially worshiped by the hunters who live in the forests.
9. Rajamuni: A great king who rules and guards the borders.
